Submissions for Swell Sculpture Festival are open until 15th March 2010.
 
Swell Sculpture Festival, Queensland’s premier outdoor sculpture exhibition, invites submissions from artists
to exhibit in the 2010 exhibition.
 
The eighth annual, free outdoor sculpture exhibition will be held along Currumbin Beach from the 10th – 19th September 2010. Swell Sculpture Festival provides artists with the opportunity to exhibit in a highly regarded exhibition set within a visually stimulating, expansive coastal landscape.

Artists will vie for up to $60,000 in Awards and Acquisitions with the Gold Coast City Council acquiring a sculpture up to $20,000 for Division 14 and Satterley Property Group acquiring two works both of up to $20,000 and $10,000.
 
Other awards include the highly popular People’s and Kids’ Choice Awards, Emerging Artist Award, Environmental Awareness Award, Media Award and Artist Peer Award.
 
Exhibiting 55 sculptures, Swell Sculpture Festival supports full freedom of expression for all forms of sculpture and encourage submissions. The curatorial panel includes Queensland Government Architect Philip Follent and renowned artist Donna Marcus.
 
Highlights include the Swell Smalls Gallery - an exhibition of smaller works, artist talks, twilight walks, kids’ workshops, public art forum and an artist in residence.

All sculptures are for sale.

This map is indicative of the site - Currumbin Beach ocean walkway between the Currumbin Surf Life Saving Club and the Currumbin Alley is approximately 1000 metres and is located along Pacific Parade Currumbin Beach, Queensland, Australia. Sculptures will be featured along the grassed area and selected beach sites. An opportunity may exist for artwork to be featured on one of two large natural rock areas. The majority of the exhibition site is flat with undulating areas. 
 
Sculpture Installation Method Statement Template
You can either use the supplied Sculpture Installation Method Statement Template or provide a one page description of how you intend to install your sculpture. The template is editable. Please complete, print to include drawings then scan and upload with application or post with application.
