Sculptured Sky - Christo Style
The Currumbin sky will come alive with movement and colour as more than 300 children assemble on the beach with their hand formed kites grasped excitedly eager to catch the sea breeze. Together they will form a dynamic, large scale public installation to close the Swell Sculpture Festival on Sunday 21st September 2008. READ MORE

A Symposium - Public Art - an Object or an Experience?
When you look at a piece of public art, what do you see? Is it a waste of space or does it energise public spaces and transform our everyday life?
The Public Art Symposium will provide an informative forum for the community to engage with the topic Public Art – an Object or an Experience through three keynote sessions. CALL FOR ENTRIES 2008 EXHIBITION

Swell Sculpture Festival is calling for entries for the sixth annual, outdoor visual arts exhibition held along Queensland’s Currumbin Beach ocean walkway. The exhibition is from the 12th - 21st September 2008. Applications are now open until April 1st 2008. READ MORE

SUCCESSFUL FUNDING APPLICATIONS

In November 2007, Swell Sculpture Festival received notification that it was successful in its application for the Queensland Government’s Arts Queensland S2M (small2medium) grant. Arts Queensland has provided $50,000 to the Swell Currumbin Sculpture Festival. This is a huge boost for Swell as the contingent of applicants was very competitive. Feedback from Arts Queensland was very positive and we were informed that Swell is the first event to receive this type of funding on the Gold Coast. A big thanks to Arts Queensland for their support, we look forward to our new relationship with them in 2008. READ MORE

Ten days of culture on the Gold Coast most treasured icon, the beach! Swell is now in its fifth year and offers the community a free outdoor visual spectacular, spanning ten days in September.
Showcasing over fifty leading artists along the Currumbin Ocean-Walkway. The sculptors come from far and wide and have built their work specifically for the outdoor environment. READ MORE
