Artist Christopher Trotter has been a part of SWELL since the inaugural exhibition way back 2003! Over the years, Christopher has created over 40 public artworks, exhibiting his work internationally and extensively across regional Queensland. After numerous contributions to SWELL over the past 15 years we are proud to announce that Christopher has accepted our invitation to develop an engaging new work for Northerly SWELL!

“The Scavenger is a whimsical, creative and interactive piece that takes a look at the classic Australian culture of ‘ making do’. Through the creative recycling of waste material from a broad cross section of industries, “The Scavenger” has become a spiritual/fishing/aquatic themed Mad Max machine promoting creative solutions to future generations. Waste [symbolised by the scrapmetal] continues to be dumped into our oceans and waterways.”

Christopher's work will be installed at Helensvale Branch Library from the 15th of August to the 17th of September
