Ivan is an award-winning local Gold Coast artist who has exhibited at SWELL for many years. Delighting and intriguing us all with his ability to transform wire into life like sculptures. From birds, wolves & lions to famous explorer Sir Edmond Hilary and now the local Gold Coast living legend Luther Cora.  

Luther Cora is an inspiring advocate for Indigenous culture, his Totem is the Black Cockatoo.

As a proud member of the Cora and Trare Families which come from the Bungaree Family, who are traditional people from Gold Coast area, also known as the Yugambeh Language group which is made up of several tribes, clans and family groups. Luther is a contemporary aboriginal dancer, artist, photographer and ambassador for his people. His family are proud of their strong connection to this country and their Culture. 

Ivan’s hands and imagination produce timeless artworks that can seem like they are looking into deep into your eyes. TOTEM is no exception!

Note: Totem by Ivan Lovatt will be at the Helensvale Cultural Precinct until 12 September, from 12 to 22 September Kangaroo by Ivan Lovatt will feature. Totem will feature at SWELL Sculpture Festival from 13 to 22 September on the beach at Currumbin.
