2020 SWELL ARTWORK – Viewfinder, Joel Adler

‘Viewfinder’ is a periscopic monument consisting of a bilateral glass mirror, 5 tonnes of steel/concrete and us. The work functions as an interface, connecting participants with the unseen. Perched atop an ocean cliff, we see into the work a view of the crashing waves below. On a ledge, we see before us the vertigo-inducing vastness of looking down. An experiment in perspective and reflection, the work urges us to reconsider and appreciate our surroundings.

Come and see for yourself at SWELL Sculpture Festival, Pacific Parade, Currumbin 11-20 September.
