2022 SWELL ARTWORK – The Corporate Snake, Jan Cleveringa

The Corporate Snake is a conceptual, installation (and video) about waste and sustainability that reimagines 10,000 ‘working-but-discarded’ fluorescent light globes worth $75,000.00 of waste.
The artwork offers a long-term idea open for discussion by suggesting a change via adding a new clause, in law, for all newly future-formed companies for a ‘win-win’ innovation that is positive for both business profit and the community. The idea also recognises that as well as with individuals and governments, the power to change culture rests with business and lies at the start, in the agreement to start a new company.
