About Dianne Coulter

“Dianne has been exhibiting since 1975. Her work has ranged from classical influenced figurative with contemporary interpretation to large experimental pieces as in the “Earth” shows. If occasionally works are relatively small, others are decidedly not; she refuses to let the kiln size limit her imagination. Her use of clay is highly experimental and often combined with a wide range of imaginative, unlikely materials…”

2023 SWELL ARTWORK – Grandiflora

This group of statuesque organic sculptural forms emerging from a rugged, stony, terrain base, could be alluding to the primordial flora of the past. Strong and resilient. The rough, scarred and burnished surfaces enhanced by the applied texture of earth and gravel give testimony to survival despite adversity. This is further heightened by the positive splashes of colour. The containment within the prescribed circle speaks of the inherent vulnerability and duty to protect.
