What was the inspiration behind your piece for SWELL Sculpture Festival 2023?
As a Industrial Technology and Design teacher I try to incorporate elements of the curriculum into real life design challenges to make the learning relevant and fun for my students. Being a local fisherman on the Gold Coast I want to raise awareness of the threat to fish stocks and the fishing industry through this sculpture. I would like to influence my students and audience to reflect on the challenges currently impacting marine environments.

Well I am actually a full time teacher and part time artist but I would have liked to be a cattle farmer.

Hopefully people will look at my sculpture and it will help generate discussion around the challenges currently impacting marine environments with constructive, positive dialogue.
