What was the inspiration behind your piece for SWELL Sculpture Festival 2022?

The artists reflected on their teenage years spent surfing and swimming and the iconic beach  accessories through a fun and happy sculpture.

What does exhibiting in the 20th year of SWELL Sculpture Festival mean to you?

We are so excited to be part of Swell for the first time in its 20th year and celebrate accordingly. As. Artists this is a wonderful opportunity to share our work with the wider community.

What are the three art mediums you couldn’t live without?

Glass tiles, glue and grout!

What is the best piece of advice that you’ve ever received? 

Swim between the flags!

If you could wake up tomorrow in the body of another artist, who would you pick and what would you do?

Any other body at the moment making Mosaic installations is physical and exhausting! And then go lie on the beach on a nice towel!

What is the best compliment for an artist to receive?

I’ll buy that!

Do you believe in ghosts or have any good unexplainable stories?


If you had to get a tattoo of a famous artwork, what would it be?

A Day on the Beach in the 60’s by FullARTon and Chard!

Do you believe pineapple belongs on a pizza?

No! because they don’t pineapples in Italy!

Do you have a power outfit that you wear while creating?

Yes it’s called an Apron! And for installation fluro and  work boots!

If you could travel back to any point in time, when and where would you go and why?

Back to the 60’s to Go stomp stomp stomping at Marouba with little Pattie one more time.

Is a connection to place important for you and your work?

Absolutely. As artists we know and understand that the strength of the artwork is  underpinned by story, place, energy and connection.
