What was the inspiration behind your piece for SWELL Sculpture Festival 2022?

Time for us to step away from using fossil fuels as our primary energy source.

What does exhibiting in the 20th year of SWELL Sculpture Festival mean to you?

Personal Platinum.

Do you think coriander tastes like soap?

Not me…but for those that is does-these people have a variation in a group of olfactory-receptor genes that allows them to strongly perceive the soapy-flavoured aldehydes in cilantro leaves.

What might people be surprised to learn about you?

I used to have hair- a bit like Fabio meets Yahoo Serious.

Do you have any artist pet peeves? What are they?

Bibs and Bobs

You went to grab your favourite mug, but have found a Genie living inside of it – what are your three wishes?

  1. Get out of my favourite mug.
  2. Get your own mug.
  3. Get me an Affogato – lots of ice cream – maybe a nice piece of baked cheese cake too.

Are there any budding artists that you’re excited to see evolve?

There’s this guy who paints women with unusual smiles in Europe. I think he was in ‘Titanic’.

What is the strangest food combo that you love?

Butter Chicken Jaffle.

If you have one, what is your spirit animal?

A brown dog.

Do you have a favourite quote or mantra that you live by?

‘Just so you know’
Try and achieve something each day

What is your favourite snack when working on big projects?

Whatever chocolate bar is on sale for $1.00

Does music impact your art? What kind of music do you create to?

I’m the kind of person that plays a song till death do us part…so I move on quite regularly. Currently Killing Marina.

I do love synthesises and music that is kind of organic and moves about. Poly rhythms are very cool to hear in a tune – especially on a great sound system.
