A Lumie-Inspired Experience

Join us for a moment of creativity, calm, and connection. Light in Motion invites you to create your own suspended sculpture inspired by Lumie, part of SWELL Sculpture Festival. Using layered abstract forms, you’ll design a piece that moves gently with light and airβ€”bringing rhythm, softness, and a sense of presence into your space. This workshop is about more than makingβ€”it’s about slowing down, following intuition, and creating something that continues to feel alive long after you leave.

Devorah Ungerleider is a contemporary abstract artist and creative director whose work explores the connection between art, environment, and human experience. Known for her layered, nature-inspired compositions, she creates original works and large-scale installations designed to bring a sense of calm, clarity, and connection into the spaces they inhabit. Her interactive sculpture Lumie: The Desert Hopper of Light, featured at the Swell Sculpture Festival, invites audiences to pause, reflect, and contribute to a shared collective expression.

The Fringe Pavilion is home of the SWELL Fringe and bar, located in Wallace Nicoll Park, Currumbin Beach. The Fringe Pavilion will come alive each evening with artistic programming such as live performance and masterclasses, plus the bar will be open daily from 12pm. Our wonderful food trucks will satisfy all of your cravings. Please note the Fringe Pavilion is a large tent, so if it’s chilly make sure you rug up.
