Ceramic Shells with Anthea Amore

Anthea shares her passion for creating beautiful sea shell forms in this fun, hands-on ceramic workshop

This ceramic shell-making workshop is open to all skill levels and ages, where participants will hand-build a range of shell forms and learn simple construction techniques, applying texture to create different shell types, and varying finishing techniques using underglazes and oxides. The shells will be fired and posted to each maker.

More about Anthea Amore

Anthea’s ceramic work is an exploration of nature’s beauty and the impact humanity has on our oceans. Her work is inspired by forms and textures found in the marine environment. She is a passionate ceramic sculptor whose work is largely inspired by the ocean. She is a collector of sea shell treasures and loves to explore these amazing forms.

Her qualifications include a Diploma of Ceramics and an Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts, majoring in ceramics

The Fringe Pavilion is home of the SWELL Fringe and bar, located in Wallace Nicoll Park, Currumbin Beach. The Fringe Pavilion will come alive each evening with artistic programming such as live performance and masterclasses, plus the bar will be open daily from 12pm. Our wonderful food trucks will satisfy all of your cravings. Please note the Fringe Pavilion is a large tent, so if it’s chilly make sure you rug up.
