Elizabeth O’Connor’s sculptural practice explores the interplay of colour, form and materiality through the transformation of industrial metal into expressive abstract compositions. In this work, a single ribbon-like silhouette unfurls and loops around, balancing precision with spontaneity, revealing unexpected relationships between strength and softness, structure and fluidity. Organic gestural curves and sweeping contours invite the eye to travel continuously across the surface, dissolving distinctions between line, drawing and object. Through its bold monochromatic presence and elegant simplicity, the work celebrates movement, possibility and the expressive potential of visual rhythm.
