Currumbin Beach is easily accessible by car, public transport, bicycle, or on foot.

Parking along the Currumbin Beach foreshore is limited and busy during SWELL – plan your journey ahead of time and consider using our free Park & Ride service with Currumbin Valley Bus & Coach to make your SWELL adventure a breeze.

 

FREE Park & Ride Shuttle Bus

Park & Ride from Currumbin RSL – Daily – 9.00am to 5.00pm

Look forΒ Currumbin Valley Bus & Coach shuttle.
Bus will run on a continuous loop between festival and RSL.

HEADING TO SWELL:

Drop off and pick up across the road fromΒ  Currumbin RSL on the western bound side of Currumbin Creek Road.
RSL Address:Β 165 Duringan St, Currumbin QLD 4223.

FREE parking in RSL carpark (across the road) or park nearby and walk to the bus stop.

LEAVING SWELL:

Last bus back to Currumbin RSL will leave Currumbin Beach atΒ 4.45pmΒ from bus stop directly outsideΒ Wallace Nicoll Park, Pacific Parade, Currumbin.Β 

TRANSLink Bus 767 and 768

There are two TRANSLink local busses that pass through SWELL Sculpture Festival at Currumbin.

BUS Route Number 767
Heading South the Translink Bus number 767 starts at The Pines Shopping Centre, Elanora, QLD and goes to Tweed Heads NSW via Pacific Parade, Currumbin, QLD.

The Gold Coast Oceanway is a lovely way to get from A to SWELL! Park and cycle or walk along the Oceanway to come and visit SWELL.
Find, unlock and ride a Lime bike

For details on how to find, reserve, unlock and use Lime bikes, download theΒ Lime App.

The bike share scheme is accessible and affordable to everyone with a smartphone. Once registered, users are able to unlock and lock their chosen bike using theΒ Lime App. Lime can be contacted 24/7. Their staff will be travelling throughout the city replacing bike batteries, conducting general maintenance and moving the bikes to ensure optimal usage.

Bus stops in the area:

  • Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary stop at the corner of Tomewin Street and Teemangum Street
  • Wallace Nicoll Park, at the northern end of Currumbin Beach
  • Centrally at Kinship Cafe – 766 Pacific Parade, Currumbin Beach

Travel by Train:

From the Varsity Lakes Train Station, ride the 761 Bus to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. A short walk from the bus stop here will have you at the SWELL Sculpture Festival bus stop in no time.

 

Travel by car from the M1 Motorway

There is limited parking along the Currumbin foreshore. If you are traveling by car we strongly encourage you to use theΒ FREE Park & RideΒ or park at theΒ Currumbin Wildlife SanctuaryΒ for $10 with proceeds going to the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation.

From Brisbane:

Heading south along the M1 Motorway, take exit 95 at Currumbin, follow this road and veer left at the traffic lights onto the Gold Coast Highway. Follow to the lights at the bottom of Currumbin Hill, turn right into Tomewin Street. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Car Park is on your left with a short walk to Pacific Parade, Currumbin.

From NSW:

Heading north along the M1 Motorway, take exit 95 at Currumbin, turn right at the lights, follow this road and veer left at the traffic lights onto the Gold Coast Highway. Follow to the lights at the bottom of Currumbin Hill. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Car Park is on your left with a short walk to Pacific Parade, Currumbin.

From the North:

Follow the Gold Coast Highway to the bottom of Currumbin Hill, turn left into Tomewin Street. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Car Park is on your left with a short walk to Pacific Parade, Currumbin.

From the South:

Follow the Gold Coast Highway to the bottom of Currumbin Hill, turn right into Tomewin Street. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Car Park is on your left with a short walk to Pacific Parade, Currumbin.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, a National Trust of Australia (Queensland) property, encourages visitors to use their car park – it’s just a short 400m stroll to SWELL.
*Proceeds from parking support the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Research and Conservation Projects. All National Trust of Australia (Queensland) members enjoy free parking.   2. Palm Beach Parklands car park on the Palm Beach side of Currumbin Creek
