JO NORTON

Jo Norton is a ceramic artist based on Bundjalong Country in Northern Rivers, New South Wales. Her diverse practice ranges from delicate porcelain vessels to large wood-fired stoneware and site-specific installations. Mentored by award-winning potter Megan Puls since 2014, Jo has developed a strong technical foundation in ceramics. Her work has been exhibited across Australia and is held in private collections both here and overseas. In late 2024, she furthered her professional growth by participating in Amy Kennedy’s Evolve mentoring program for visual artists. In her latest body of work, Jo explores the impact of climate change on the landscape, inviting viewers to engage with her pieces from multiple perspectives. Through this approach, she fosters deeper connections with the work, sparking conversations and encouraging a greater understanding of environmental issues.
