Damien Ricketson

Damien Ricketson is a sound artist exploring vibration and modes of listening that extend beyond the ear. He founded Ensemble Offspring, an arts organisation dedicated to adventurous new music, and is currently an academic at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney. His major award-winning works include the sensory installation Listening to Earth, the immersive Sound Touch, and the wordless opera The Howling Girls. Recent projects focus on intertidal zones as dynamic borderlands—between land and sea, human and more than human relations—investigated through the medium and metaphor of sound.
