Kayla Finlayson

Kayla Finlayson is an emerging ceramic artist based in the Tweed Valley, NSW. Kayla recently exhibited with NCC as a ‘SURFACE 2026’ finalist. Her practice positions ceramics as a material extension of observational research, informed by a background in photojournalism, film and visual art. Working between visual studies, hand-built clay processes and slip casting; Kayla’s work is a development of her relationship with place, environment and connection. Lived experience is woven through her artistic perspectives and informs a growing body of work that strives to capture nature’s elegance whilst bringing awareness to its dire need of our collective listening.
