About Antone Bruinsma
Antone was born in Amsterdam and started carving wood at the age of ten. He arrived in Australia two years later. He attended Queensland College of Art (1977-79) majoring in sculpture. He has been a full-time sculptor since then exhibiting widely in Australia and overseas, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China. He has participated and organised numerous sculpture symposiums creating major works in sandstone, marble, granite and wood. His commissions for private, public and corporate clients can be found throughout this country and in major collections overseas. His stone flower sculptures in particular are sought after and clients often visit his private sculpture garden (Open by appointment) to select pieces and enjoy the ever-changing exhibition.

For the land, water and air, the flora and fauna with which we share this planet… Respect for art, and all creation. This blossom acknowledges the beauty in all of us, a symbol of what’s possible with encouragement and respect.
