About Shiloh Perry
Perth born Shiloh studied Fine Arts at Claremont School of Art (graduating in 2000). Shiloh’s Art practise has always been driven by her passion of design and Architecture. After extending her Art studies at university she transferred into Architecture. During this time of study (2007) she was selected to show her work at the 2008 Sculptures by the Sea at Cottesloe. Later in 2008 Shiloh created an exhibition titled ‘AAA’, Anonymous Architects and Artists where she invited practising Artists and Architect to submit works on the proviso that they relinquished creative input in the installation process and their names did not appear on the work. During this exhibition Shiloh also exhibited her work upstairs as a solo show. In 2009 she was invited back to exhibit at Sculptures by the Sea. Unfortunately due to full time work commitments Shiloh’s Art practise came to a halt. During this long break she has moved to the Gold Gold Coast and started her own business in event operations. 2020 was a year of change as event/music work ceased Shiloh took this time to reflect on her true passions (not only for music) but her creative drive.
2022 SWELL ARTWORK – Kurb Appeal, Shiloh Perry
“Unlike the tree, the rhizome is not the object of reproduction, neither external reproduction as image-tree nor internal reproduction as tree-structure. The rhizome is an antigenealogy, it is a short term memory, or antimemory. The rhizome operates by variation, expansion, conquest, capture, offshoots.” (A Thousand Plateaus, Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari). This Artist Statement is currently a work in progress, like all rhizomes…
