About Stefano Vittone
Stefano is an (long time) architect and (emerging) artist based in Samford Valley, north-west of Brisbane. With a particular interest in timber – and more recently metal – as sculptural mediums, he looks to the nature and engagement with the material to guide his creative process. He is looking forward to his first SWELL Sculpture Festival as an exhibiting artist, and hopefully many more to come!
2023 SWELL ARTWORK – SOMA #1
“Structure is an act of forming” (Klee).
When we look at a form we interpret movement in the resonance of its particles. Rhythm is repeated or combined in channels that transmit in one direction or the other, or both. particles are shaped in such a way as to lend themselves to movement and conduction. They have no separate existence, they serve a process that articulates the whole into being.
Movement is the act of forming, and nature is its starting point.
