About Sue Corbet
Sue Corbet, a self taught 77-year-old artist, commenced sculpting in 2004. She has emerged as a professional sculptor. Her sculptures have been shown in group exhibitions, purchased by interstate and international collectors, acquired by Geelong Council, exhibited at QDOS Lorne, Australian Galleries Sculpture Park Porcupine Ridge, Sculpture By The Sea Bondi 2018, 2019 and 2023, Sculptures@Bayside 2018 (judges prize) and 2019.
Her passion is figurative sculpture, influenced by her friend and mentor Peter Corlett, and many of the European masters such as Manzu and Marino Marini.
2023 SWELL ARTWORK – RIPPER NIPPERS
These ‘Ripper Nippers’ are a big part of our Australian beach culture. Cheeky, timid and proud, they stand together after completing their 2 weeks of learning water safety, beach games, board skills, rescue skills and team work. We love them. They’ll be our lifesavers one day.
