ABOUT
Al Phemister transforms industrial materials into organic, natural forms that challenge perceptions of reuse. From his workshop in Yass, New South Wales, Al creates delicate, inspiring sculptures from discarded items, infusing them with gentleness and movement. His work reflects his love for the natural environment and his family. As a leading arts advocate, Al shares his skills through workshops, speaking engagements, and by organising arts events and advocating for the arts and artists in his community, as well as further afield.

Dandelion Series
Dandelions, often dismissed as mere weeds, are in fact vital contributors to gardens, soil, bees and humans. They provide essential food and medicine, and their role in ecosystems has been both long- standing and profound. Despite their reputation, dandelions have been nurturing and sustaining mankind for centuries. Their remarkable resilience and global presence suggest that they deserve greater recognition and respect. In Al Phemester’s Dandelion series, these plants stand tall in the landscape, their delicate forms swaying gently in the breeze, embodying both strength and grace as they disperse their seeds to the wind.
