STUDENTS AND TEACHERS OF KINGS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
Kings Christian School places a high value on art education and students’ involvement in the creative industries. Recognising that artistic expression is a divine gift, the school believes in nurturing creativity as a means of exploring and communicating the beauty inherent in God’s creation. King’s art department fosters empathy, critical thinking, and a profound understanding of the human experience, aligning with the school’s values of Learning Passionately, Living Purposefully, Loving Faithfully and Leading Diligently. Actively participating in the arts industry not only allows students to develop their talents but also empowers them to be positive influencers, spreading Christian principles and contributing to a world that reflects the values of love, compassion, and beauty.
Golden Rush
In ‘Golden Rush’ students explore a nostalgic Gold Coast, where beachside homes were once attainable for working families – dream now seemingly out of reach for today’s youth. Reflecting on the evolving landscape, they envision their future amid the Gold Coast’s diverse expansion. The artwork contrasts the small suburban past with the technologically advanced, culturally dynamic, and sustainable communities of the future. While nostalgia may evoke grief for past generations, the piece urges viewers to find positive opportunities in the unfamiliar yet promising future of development and progress.
