
NASRIN VAZIRI, DEBBIE S.PNIEL, ASIETEMADI, DEBBY LO-DEAN, BIJAN ASSAI, BOLOR BADARCH & ROSE AZAR
Nasrin is an arts sociologist with over 23 years of experience at local, state, and international levels as a visual artist and arts project manager. Since 2000, she has served as the Artistic Director of GCMAGIC, overseeing 10 major projects and more than 50 smaller ones. Nasrin collaborates with a diverse array of artists and creative talents from various cultures and art forms. She is also the curator of ‘Contemporary Expression of a Modern Society’. Debbie is a leading artist, specialising in mixed media and abstract art. As a local artist and art teacher, she has participated in numerous exhibitions and creative projects. Debbie is the creative force behind the visuals and aesthetics of the installation.
‘Contemporary Expression of a Modern Society’ is a sociological vision and expression of a modern society in which ‘diversity’ is its boldest feature. The ‘diversity’ is applied to culture, gender, age, socio-economic status, education, lifestyle, political views, religion, and race. These diverse categories, all play a role in building a cohesive modern society.
Where do you look for inspiration? What themes do you find most interesting?
I am inspired by colours which can be interpreted in many ways.The most interesting themes/subjects for me are nature and how the colours of nature can form social coherence and unity.
What role does location or environment play in your sculptures?
Location links with surroundings which is a core subject of inspiration at least for me!
How do you feel when you see people interacting with your sculptures?

Describe your dream project.
My dream project in a large picture is to connect all sorts of ‘arts to social movement toward modernity.’
