SIMON Frederick Mcverry & Adrienne mcverry
Simon McVerry has been involved in a wide variety of creative pursuits over the last 20 years. A love of sculpture and carving has found expression in a wide range of projects which have been interwoven with his life path as a sailor, forester and ecologist. In recent years this passion has resulted in the creation of a number of award winning and inspirational art pieces which have featured at cultural, music and art festivals.
Simon has long been drawn to the sea and its myriad of creatures, both real and imagined. In years past, he worked on a fishing trawler offshore from this beach, occasionally encountering a Sea Dragon dragged up from the depths, its life colors fading as it was captured and taken from its blue-water home. This work pays respect to the beauty and magic of these creatures and seeks to highlight their presence in our fragile near-shore marine ecosystem.
