Christopher Trotter

Trotter’s professional art practice began in 1990 exhibiting along the east coast of Australia.
Using his architectural training, along with 30+ years of professional arts practice, Trotter produces works that are accessible, innovative and engaging.
Since 1994 Trotter has been commissioned to create over 50 public artworks across Australia for various government bodies, councils, universities, and developers.
Trotter has exhibited internationally. In 2001and 2003 Trotter had solo exhibitions in Aoyama -Tokyo. Many public artworks have been commissioned as high impact tools for the promotion of cultural tourism.
In 2010 his work was selected by the Australian Federal Government for prominent display at the entry to the Australian Pavilion at the World Expo – Shanghai. In 2020 Trotter was commissioned to create 3 artworks for Tokyo Bay, and in 2021 he won the Inaugural $90,000.00 ‘Ephemera Acquisition Prize’ Townsville.
Hollidaying
A visual detritus of sorts, along with faded memories, an old classic beach umbrella, a vintage automobile wheel and car chassis are playfully reinstated like a fragmented memory of a road trip from Brisbane to the Gold Coast that’s not quite right.
