Craig Gow is an emerging artist known for unique work with clay metal and wood. Inspired by nature and industrial landscapes he creates sculptures and functional art pieces that explore organic forms and structural design that combine the warmth of wood with the earthiness of clay and the sleekness of metal. SWELL 2025 ARTWORK
Freedom
Freedom features a robust metal frame adorned with timber logs, artfully arranged to explore the theme of liberation. Utilising the natural colours of the different timbers enhanced with fire to capture a grey scale representation of Julian Assange’s face, symbolising the complexed interplay of freedom and censorship. This work invites the viewer to reflect on the importance of transparency and the ongoing struggle for individual rights in the world. Freedom challenges perception while celebrating resilience.
