Mieke van den Berg

Mieke van den Berg is an award-winning contemporary artist and place-maker who calls the Sunshine Coast home. She creates site-responsive installations using everyday materials and markmaking, exploring how we connect to places and each other. Mieke’s art invites you into a world of light, sound, airflow, and architecture, transforming familiar and unfamiliar spaces into sensory and mindful experiences. Her interactive installations encourage participation, making each piece a shared creative journey. With over 30 years of experience as a commercial muralist, Mieke has exhibited her work in numerous group and solo shows, and her art has graced many public spaces. She has participated in residencies in Australia and the UK and recently won the Local Artist Award in Sculpture on the Edge 2023. In 2020, she earned the Excellence Award in the Local Artist – Local Content Art Prize and was a Lyn McCrea Memorial Drawing Prize finalist.
