ABOUT
Pim Pimparat is a pottery artist working under the name Handlewithclay. She creates works that interact with people, bringing joy and connection. In Thailand, her art explored joyful moments in daily life by incorporating elements from various places and objects.
Pim graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art from Srinakharinwirot University, Bangkok, Thailand, in 2011. In 2023, she moved to Australia to continue her studies. Her clay journey began anew at Mas & Miek Ceramic House, where she had the opportunity to collaborate and connect deeply with others through her art.
Now, Pim’s work is playful, nostalgic, and designed to evoke cherished memories. Through her art, she hopes people feel a connection, as she expresses storytelling through clay.
SWELL 2025 ARTWORK
From Pelicans’ Perspective
This sculpture reflects on the human impact on nature and consumption habits through the perspective of the Pelicans. The tap symbolises the industrialised way humans provide resources, while the fish bones sticking out of the pelicans’ beaks reflect the unnatural relationship between creatures and their environment, now controlled by humans. Through this piece, Pim invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with nature and reflect on how small human actions can spark larger ecological issues.
