tim Stephenson

Tim Stephenson is a designer and sculptor with a background in Industrial Design, graduating from the Wellington School of Design in 1984. Across a long freelance career, he has worked extensively in three-dimensional design, including exhibition and museum design, architectural environments, television production design, and large-scale spatial installations. This sustained engagement with form, structure, and material has shaped his current sculptural practice. Stephenson views design as problem-solving and art as self-inquiry, a distinction that underpins his work. Now focused on sculpture, his practice explores the forces that shape human experience, reflecting an ongoing and evolving creative journey.
