What is the coolest art tip you’ve ever received?
A quote by Nick Cave but don’t quote me that went something along the lines of, “Everything has been done, but what you do is uniquely yours.” In this Post-postmodern, Metamodernist world that was somewhat reassuring.
Is It lonely working as an artist? If so, how do you combat that?
Yes and no, my practice is generally a solo gig but I am also a member of Artist Boardriders Club here on the coast where we share a love of waves and a collaborative art practice.
What does your dream collaboration look like, and which artist/s would you chose?
Mike Kelley, Marina Abramovich and Olafur Eliasson.
What is your favourite art supply store of all time?
Bunnings.
If you could have lunch with any artist from any era, who would it be?
Mike Kelley.
What is your favourite thing to do after completing a major project?
Start the next, sleep, surf, Netflix.
What is the strangest thing or thought that has inspired a piece of your work, or practice?
Death.
If you had to pick one artist to create the story of your life through art, who would you pick and why?
Mike Kelley and he has already shared some of my life story through is own.
Do you have an artist power outfit that you wear while creating?
Just black.
Do you believe pineapple belongs on pizza?
Yeah why not tomato is a fruit, it’s bbq sauce that is the death of pizza.
