Description
“Alight” signifies the state of rest of a body on a structure, like a bird resting on a perch, which has alighted, come down, but sits ready in apprehension, in a kind of stationary balance, acquiescence or expectation. This simple wood, rock, and stone piece by artist Anna Bonshek is made of raw ironbark hewn on a portable sawmill from a locally felled tree. It takes a T-shape, as if a basic silhouette or symbol of a tree.
Materials Ironbark, river rock, Helidon sandstone
Measurements (mm) H 590 W 250 L 300
