Description
The Bright Buoy proposal for SWELL Sculpture Festival 2025 is purely sculptural but there is also a very serious environmental message behind the art form.
‘Bright Buoy’ represents a floating solar thermal sun tracking device that could be moored in the environs of vulnerable bleaching coral reefs. In parts of the Great Barrier Reef, multiple Bright Buoys could be deployed to disperse highly reflective nanobubbles for ocean whitening (NOW) the sea surface and provide local ocean cooling.
Bright Buoys are where art meets science.
