Madi Whyte | Rule of Two

$3,000.00

Only 1 left in stock

Rule of Two takes the familiar form of a paperclip and abstracts it to a larger scale, transforming an object of everyday utility into a study of connection and perspective. Removed from its functional context, the work invites the viewer to reconsider what is ordinarily overlooked, asking how scale and abstraction can shift the way an object is read.

About the Artist

Madi Whyte is a Victoria-based artist whose work draws on the open, finite terrain of rural Australia. Working primarily in metalwork, Whyte explores the physical language of the medium, its edges, planes, and deliberate severs, to question how space is composed, divided, and perceived.

Central to this practice is the use of line and colour as active, disruptive forces. Rather than describing form, line performs it, cutting through surfaces and establishing tension. These elements contrast and distort, pushing against the eye’s instinct to resolve what it sees, holding the work in productive ambiguity.
