Using readymade, preloved objects found in places like council curbside collections, or in this case, op shops, Opulence is a continuation my ongoing studio practice which explores the ways in which we consume and discard. I am interested at how objects can be acquired as a valuable possession in one instance and subsequently discarded as unwanted in the next. In my art installations and particularly in this work, I play with this dichotomy and try to reinstate the discarded domestic objects back to something desired and treasured.
