Anar (Pomegranate), draws from ancient Greek and Persian mythology, where the pomegranate symbolizes women’s freedom, love, life, and well-being. Each piece in this project is entirely original and handcrafted by the artist, fired in a local kiln. The surface patterns are not uniform; they vary in colour and design, reflecting the artist’s emotions and creative process. Anar embodies the love of a migrant female artist from the East for crafting unique, original works, celebrating cultural heritage through contemporary artistic expression.

About the Artist
Nasrin is a multidisciplinary artist with extensive experience in visual arts mediums and materials. Academically trained as an Arts Sociologist, she has also worked as a producer, curator, and artistic director on significant projects. Since 2015, she has focused on creating ceramic pomegranates (Anar), as well as public and private installations and ecological artworks. Inspired by her anthropological research, Nasrin meticulously replicates the natural forms of pomegranates, crafting them from clay before developing moulds. She then applies her artistic vision, producing unique ceramic Anar in a variety of patterns and colours. Her works have been highly sought after, selling quickly wherever exhibited. Nasrin has collaborated with numerous local and state artists, gaining deep insights into the multidisciplinary creative industry while building a strong social and artistic network. Her artworks have been featured in solo and group exhibitions locally, state-wide, and internationally.
