The Southport School - Kama Bradley, Benjamin Clayton, Oscar Eckersley & Ethan Sly | Entangled

SWELL Smalls Gallery 2026

Entangled is a found-object artwork created from woven fabrics, plastics, ball panels, wire mesh, netting, and other reclaimed materials. Inspired by Alison McDonald and the marine environment of The Spit, it explores environmentalism, pollution, conservation, and human responsibility. The diverse marine life we observed, from fish and turtles to whales, inspired the image of a whale trapped by a net, symbolising the impact of marine debris and ghost nets. By transforming discarded materials into art, Entangled encourages viewers to reflect on their role in protecting marine ecosystems and the environment.
