SWELL Sculpture Festival 2025 presents: Sunset Jazz with Ingrid James Quintet feat. Shelley Bishop (sax) plus Jazz Singers’ Jam Session Under the Stars with Ingrid James Quintet. Get ready to immerse yourself in a soul-stirring evening of world-class jazz as SWELL proudly presents Queensland’s award-winning jazz vocalist Ingrid James and her all-star Quintet.
From 4:30pm, let the music wash over you as Ingrid James and her powerhouse ensemble—featuring the legendary Brendan St Ledger on piano, dynamic saxophonist Shelley Bishop, groove-master Andrew Shaw on bass, and rhythm virtuoso Lachlan Hawkins on drums—serve up a rich global menu of sound. Expect everything from classic, cool jazz and sultry Bossa Novas to breathtaking jazz arrangements of songs by The Beatles, Carole King, K.D. Lang, Neil Finn, and more.
As the sun sets and the stars come out, the night continues with a Jazz Singers’ Jam Session, hosted by Ingrid and the band. Vocalists are invited to jump in and share the stage in a spontaneous celebration of creativity and community. Instrumentalists are also welcome to sit in.

The Fringe Pavilion is home of the SWELL Fringe and bar, located in Wallace Nicoll Park, Currumbin Beach. The Fringe Pavilion will come alive each evening with artistic programming such as live music, performance and masterclasses, plus the bar will be open daily from 12pm. Our wonderful food trucks will satisfy all of your cravings. Please note the Fringe Pavilion is a large tent, so if it’s chilly make sure you rug up.
