Around 800 11-17 year olds have come through the free Youth Music Venture program since 2009, firmly establishing itself as “The Nippers of Gold Coast music”, the only organisation growing Gold Coast music from grassroots up and these amazing young musicians are the product of this unique program!

The achievements of the musicians from the program are remarkable: 13 performances at the Commonwealth Games including the Opening Ceremony pre-show in front of 35,000 people and the exclusive entertainment for the Athletes Village Media Preview! Then the ultimate — representing Australia at the International Sister Cities Youth Music Festival in Chengdu China 2024, their 16th year with 28 countries performing and Youth Music Venture took 1st Prize, like “Gold” at the “Music Olympics”. You may even see some of that band performing during SWELL, so don’t miss them!

The Fringe Pavilion is home of the SWELL Fringe and bar, located in Wallace Nicoll Park, Currumbin Beach. The Fringe Pavilion will come alive each evening with artistic programming such as live performance and masterclasses, plus the bar will be open daily from 12pm. Our wonderful food trucks will satisfy all of your cravings. Please note the Fringe Pavilion is a large tent, so if it’s chilly make sure you rug up.
