Rug Hooking Sketches with Fleur Brett

Join textile artist and sculptor Fleur Brett in the addictive practice of rug hooking. Concentrating on the technique of punch rug hooking participants will draw up a local landscape image onto fabric to make a small rug hooked sketch. These will be framed ready to hang.

More about Fleur Brett

Fleur is a sculptor / weaver based in Naarm / Melbourne whose work uses textile techniques to explore texture, layered imagery and the movement between 2 and 3 dimensions. Her latest body of work exploring themes of the aging female body (The Muse) and animal extinction (Pelt) uses rug hooking techniques to make conceptual wall works.

The Fringe Pavilion is home of the SWELL Fringe and bar, located in Wallace Nicoll Park, Currumbin Beach.
