What’s your favourite aspect of being an artist?

Getting to create and discover new things everyday that people enjoy, and putting a smile on their face.

Do you have a favourite material you like to work with?

Paint!

Would you rather share an Uber with Barbara Hepworth or Cornelia Parker or Antony Gormley?

Uber time with Cornelia Parker!

If you could meet any artist (from the past or present) who would it be?

Salvador Dali… and Elton John (for Court hehe).

What are you most excited for about SWELL?

Being out in public (hopefully) legally and safely.

If you could go anywhere in the world to be inspired where would you go?

Japan. Theres always so much happening there and it is chaotic, but still crispy clean and minimal somehow. Perfect place for inspo.

A world without art would be…

…a mistake.

If you could pick a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) to describe your style what would it be?

Espresso Martini for sure! With a triple shot of coffee.

How have you grown as an artist since you started out?

Definitely trying to keep things simple and minimal.

Where/how were you inspired to create your SWELL 2020 piece?

We were inspired by this year – 2020. Our world is becoming unbalanced and mother nature is trying naturally fix it. Hence ‘The Umbrella Effect’.

How do you think SWELL Sculpture brings art and the local community together?

Art invites observations and with that comes with conversation between artist and audience.

What does SWELL mean to you?

Swell is a chance to see the art community come together and contribute to a public platform. We have so much fun hanging around our sculpture talking to the public and getting their view of our art and others!
