As we reflect on a wonderful year presenting awe-inspired sculptures by so many amazing Artists, we hope you all find some time to reflect on the amazing creations and stories shared.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was a part of SWELL this year. Our artists, volunteers, team, crew, patrons, sponsors, art lovers, supporters, and critics; Thank you for your continuous support. 2021 was a challenging year for everyone, and we are very grateful to have had the opportunity to continue connecting people, art, and place, especially during these difficult times.

The outcomes of SWELL 2021 and the resilience of the arts industry have demonstrated more than ever the power that art and culture hold in enriching peoples’ wellbeing and happiness. Arts and culture make the world a better place; Humans need it! We are excited about what SWELL 2022 has to offer, and we’re passionate about bringing you new amazing art and sharing culture with you all.

At SWELL, we are celebrating the festive season by bringing to you another ’12 Days of Sculpture.’ Take a trip around the world with us, as we explore 12 amazing sculptures from different countries.

CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR SWELL 2022 OPEN NOW! 

Artists are invited to be brave, bold and daring with their creative minds and apply to be a part of SWELL 2022, Queensland’s largest outdoor sculpture exhibition taking place at Currumbin Beach on the Gold Coast.
 
SWELL is a ten-day manifestation of conceptions and visual commentary, and presents small, medium and large-scale sculpture, installations, and digital works as a FREE outdoor gallery at Currumbin Beach, September 9-18, 2022.
 
Artists from across Australia and the world working in all mediums are invited to submit. SWELL welcomes the opportunity to work with artists who are keen to break new ground in sculpture presentation and installation art. Works can be site-specific, display ephemeral qualities and should invite dialogue and instigate inspired conversations through craftsmanship, kinetics, message or artistic exploration. 

Highlights include a major $15,000 award, with the award pool totalling $27,500, industry networking and profiling and opportunities to participate in artists talks, host workshops and the potential to sell works.

Submissions are welcome from professional, mid-career and emerging artists – Submit online by 31 January, 2022.
