Description
This piece is part of a series of works that the artist has made over recent years that investigate human interactions with the natural world in a local context. Referencing colonial era trophy ware that celebrated the exploitation of the Australian landscape, this piece represents native timbers that were logged to the point of rarity, with the jagged edges around the rim intended to resemble cross cut saws. The artwork challenges the meaning of symbolic expressions of wealth when the cost is greater than the reward.
