Description
Entitled “Friends”, Anna Bonshek’s playful set of whimsical sculptures built from locally harvested wood, invite the viewer to entertain multiple imaginary objects. Bonshek draws inspiration from the presence of the forest, the potency of the living structure of trees, and how they may become potential material to fashion artful entities as well as constructions, shelter, or objects.
The forest is an interconnected, interdependent ecosystem—a community of mutually supportive elements. “Friends” is an acknowledgement of this and speaks to the value of interdependency, co-operation, mutual benefit of togetherness—of multiplicity entertaining harmony.
