Moon is a continuation of David Ardley’s design aluminium artwork from his Circle in a Square series. This work focuses on the harmony of a sphere within a square and the attempt to create an illusion of a curved surface on a flat plane. Moon also represents David’s long standing interest in Astronomy. This work was inspired by David’s sketch of the moon with a pair of binoculars. Great lighting will enhance the 3-Dimensional aspect of this Artwork!

About the Artist
David Ardley is a self-taught Gold Coast based artist who specialises in, and is known for, his distinctive oil paintings on aluminium. His technique of painting directly into metal that has been hand polished, etched, and sanded to create light induced patterns is striking and unique. He has recently sold his art to collectors in New York City, Doha Qatar, and Auckland New Zealand.
