Remember Wonderland is an ode to the joys of childhood, when the world was bright and bold and full of wonder. The piece plays on the idea of drawing outside the lines, being curious and exploring. The heavy textural appearance of the work is achieved through palette knife application, layering oil paint, and is intended to evoke the viewers sense of touch and draw them into the painting.

About the Artist
Bel Parsons is a Queensland-based abstract impressionist artist whose work resonates with expressive energy and emotional depth. Her diverse range of artworks spans across vibrant colour palettes and varied styles, reflecting a practice that is both intuitive and deeply personal. Bel holds both a Bachelor of Arts (2000) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology (2021). Bel’s practice focuses on exploring connections between people and environments, drawing on her understanding of psychology and colour theory, her work creates a visceral and emotional connection with the viewer.
