About the Artist
Mauricio Aybar is an award-winning mosaic artist renowned for his intricate stained-glass masterpieces. Originally from Spain, he has lived in Australia since 2014, bringing his expertise in fine art, sculpture, and mosaic design to the Gold Coast. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, Mauricio has exhibited his works internationally and collaborated on high-profile commissions, including restorations at Palazzo Versace and luxury installations at The Riad in Queensland. His artistic journey is deeply rooted in craftsmanship, blending traditional techniques with contemporary innovation. Through his Helensvale-based studio, *Artistic Mosaic Designs*, Mauricio creates bespoke artworks, offers workshops, and engages with the local art community. His work, featured in major exhibitions and publications, captures the beauty of light, texture, and form. Passionate about the meditative process of mosaic-making, he continues to push creative boundaries, inspiring reflection and appreciation for this timeless art form.
