Description
A lighting tower drifts toward disaster, on the verge of sinking into the ocean. Fish and birds work together to save it, balancing the weight and preventing it from tilting. The creatures, the cutest guests by Laura Cope, add whimsy and depth to the narrative. Pim’s process was driven by joy and technique, combining throwing, freeform, and slab construction. Each layer was designed to accommodate light, making the sculpture stackable. After firing, it was assembled like a jigsaw puzzle, turning the piece into an ongoing story of rescue and hope.
