Description
Swirling. Changing. Words keep playing over and over. Images run into each other. Ideas flash and merge inside. Looping, playing. Tumbling. They don’t make any sense anymore. What’s right, what’s wrong, what’s correct, what is true? What to think, how to act, behave? Different pathways, twisting, connecting. Plasticity? Rethinking, reframing, redefining, remaking… plastic.

About the Artist
Based in Central West NSW, Nottingham’s is art practice is a multi-disciplinary: from illustration & commercial work to conceptual art, collages, mixed media, photography, sculptural forms & installation. In recent years she has worked with post consumer breadtags, transforming them from their initial purpose to create things that are ‘other,’ creating objects that confront & surprise. This work ranges in scale from large installations with many millions of breadtags to the small and intimate. Working, slowly, methodically, meticulously, investigating the materiality and potentiality of these artefacts of the Anthropocene, she invites dialogue around environment, waste, sustainability & consumerism. The breadtags used have been sent to her globally, a global response to a global problem. Nottingham has won several national creative awards, including Northern Beaches Environmental Art & Design Awards (Sculpture) 2023. Her work is held in private and public collections, & has been featured across many platforms & mediums in Australia & internationally.
