Description
Stuart endeavours to create works which will bring to mind a faint but persistent recollection of that which has intrigued but is unknowable, seen, but only from the corner of the mind’s eye. They hint at basic and familiar archetypes – the column, the beam, the lintel, the arch and the the spiral; but only insofar as these tensions, weights and structures have informed his subconscious, and have bubbled to to the surface as the work progresses. Then the works’ autonomy, it’s ‘reality’ in the world hints at new possibilities.
